As the body of the Earth — pt I.

Updated: 6 days ago

We hear and talk about one-ness. Discover it via experiences. When we're born we don't discern. Then we learn the ME... and the ME takes over... then we have glimpses, such as falling in love and being loved in return, spiritual experiences, nature, you name it.

About a month ago I went to be with myself. Alone. Removing the context of others.

And I fell in love with the body of the Earth. Different kind of rocks, cliffs, eroding sand, whatever vegetation can handle the circumstances of that specific kind of rock, and weather patterns... Are we humans any different?

First it was the sound of the waves — I scrambled these lines on paper:

As the waves crash in and between the porous volcanic stones, there's a guttural, deep roar... something so ancient, primordial, timeless time, the closest external sound to the roar of Silence. Extending into anywhere in the Universe.

Crackling as they pull back - an inhale - growling, deeply shaking every fibre of my being as they spread and penetrate the rocks on the shore. Immovably solid, yet open and vulnerable the stones are sitting still... some swaying gently, being pushed and pulled by the waves.

Inhale. Exhale. Low tide, high tide. Making love. Beating heart. Menstrual cycle. Emotions. Seasons. Moon cycle. Swirling planets. Sitting on the rocks I felt fear squeezing my shoulders: up and together tight. The pull, the swell and rise of each wave sizzled the fear up to a higher temperature in me. And then... as the wave sprawled absolutely everywhere in, through and around the rocks - an exhale - an effortless relaxation arrived.

"Thought is nothing, but mental excitement. Mind is only a bubble floating on the Self. Burst the bubble and you are the Ocean.

My fear is all but a froth floating on crashing ocean waves... and underneath the flickering thoughts, swelling emotions we are this roaring everpresent Silence.

Smoothened by the swaying sea.

Swinging with the breath of the ocean.

Rolling rocks lullaby.

Deep dark sounds shushing the mind into peace:

Interwoven froth of thoughts, Swell of fear release into peace.

A deep, guttural "ohm" of the Planet.
